2018 Tournament of Books Champions
Throughout March 2018, we held a Tournament of Books at the Library. Top circulating book titles from the previous year, along with a few wild cards, were selected to compete in our tournament in two division brackets: Adult Fiction & Non Fiction and Children’s Section. Each week, patrons could vote in the Library or online to help their favorite books win.
Thanks to everyone who voted in our Tournament! Many of the matches were close and in case of a tie, a coin was flipped to determine the winner. After four rounds of voting, the champions have been chosen: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by James Dean.
Have you read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah? The Library added this novel in March of 2015 and has circulated 36 times since then (an average of being checked out once every month since it arrived). Interested in this “epic love story and family drama set at the dawn of World War II”? Come by the Library to check it out!
Have you read the Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by James Dean? This picture book was added to the Library in August 2015 and has circulated 29 times since then – nearly once every month that it has been available. Pete the Cat is a popular character in both picture books and easy readers, so be sure to check out Pete in I Love My White Shoes or one of his other fun stories!
