donations welcome

Would you like to donate to the Library in honor of a special person, event, or just because you enjoy the library? Please do! Here are guidelines to get started:

Donate a Financial Gift

Monetary donations are always welcome! There are three options for giving to choose between: directly to the Lindsborg Community Library, to the Library care of Friends of the Lindsborg Library (501(c)3 organization) or to the Library Endowed or Non-Endowed Funds held with Smoky Valley Community Foundation (501(c)3 organization). You can designate your gift to a specific project, library service area, or undesignated gifts will be used “where most needed.”

To Give Online: Donate Here to give to the Lindsborg Community Library Endowed Fund held with the Smoky Valley Community Foundation. If you would like your online donation to be specifically used for the Library Building Project rather than the endowment, include “non-endowed fund: library building project” in your gift notes.

Donate Gently Used Materials

When accepting materials, the Library welcomes donations of books, magazines, DVDs, audiobooks on CD, games, puzzles, and cake pans that are in good to like new condition.

When used materials are donated to the Library, our staff sort through donations to determine where they could best benefit the library. Items in very good to like new condition are added to Library collections if they meet our Collection Development Policy guidelines. If not, items are passed on to our used book store, annual book sale, and monthly super sale options.  All of the funds generated at book sales go back to benefit the Library.

We cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, or audio cassette tapes. Please do not donate items with poor condition issues such as mold, water damage, bugs, dirt, or significant damages.

Ask if You have More Questions

Do you have something else in mind? Please ask! We love to help connect library materials and services with our community and welcome questions about how you can be involved in that process.

Thank you for considering donating to the Lindsborg Community Library!
