03.18.25 Library Building Project Update: Construction has Started!

Last week, the project superintendent began prep work for construction crews to get started on the remodeling work at the Library expansion building. On Friday, Librarians were equipped with a sledgehammer and given a chance to start the demolition. It was a great delight to kick off the first phase of construction!
A full construction crew started work yesterday. Construction hours are currently scheduled for Mondays – Fridays, 7AM – 4PM. While the schedule is subject to change, it is currently estimated that wall cuts between the two buildings will happen next week. The project timeline anticipates a completion date of July 25, 2025.
During construction, parking will be limited. Thank you for your patience as we experience this crunch over the next four months!
Fundraising: With the construction work started, we are now operating on a deadline to raise an additional $50,000 to keep the remodel of the heritage room and front entrance included in the first phase of construction. The currently raised amount, $540,000, had initially been estimated as more than enough funding. However, actual bids came in higher than estimated. If we are able to confirm enough funding by April 11, we will be able to remain on schedule and include that aspect of the project within the first construction phase. For more details, check out our earlier post here. As of March 18, $1,111 has been raised.
We are so excited to make these strides forward in our building project! For the latest details, you are welcome to come talk with us at the Library. We greatly appreciate all your support!
