Our Library building project completed significant progress towards starting Phase 1 Construction work the week! Confirmed remodel areas of this first construction phase includes creating interior openings between the current building and the building purchased for expansion, remodeling the building expansion, and remodeling the circulation desk area. This work is scheduled for March 10 – July 25, 2025. Thank you so much for your generous support given thus far!
After bids were secured, construction prices were higher than originally estimated. As such, we are currently seeking to secure an additional $50,000 so we can continue to have the remodel of the new heritage room location included in the first construction phase.
Why Donate?
1: Remodeling this space will result in improved sight lines when entering the Library from the main entrance, creating a more welcoming first impression for library visitors.
2: Remodeling this area will provide a space to highlight and expand our library’s Swedish and local history collections.
3: Remodeling this area provides a meeting space for medium-sized groups at the Library.
Why Donate Now?
1: Remodeling this space is most cost effective when included with the other areas currently confirmed for Phase 1.
2: Including this portion of the remodel in Phase 1 Construction means that our Swedish and local history collections can be displayed to best advantage at the upcoming 2025 Svensk Hyllningsfest.
Help us Raise $50,000 to Remodel the Heritage Room! If we are able to confirm funding sources by April 11, the heritage room remodel can remain included. If not, it will be deferred until funds are secured for the second planned construction phase that will focus on updating the library’s public restroom facilities and creating an expanded teen space. That second phase work is pending additional secured funding, currently estimated at another $250,000 beyond the $50,000 needed for the heritage room.
